One of the interesting knitting websites for us knitters is www.knittingdaily.com . I'm sure you will have heard of them. You can subscribe to emails and they have interesting articles and free patterns.I just had to reproduce this

Although it doesn't really deserve it. Some of the patterns are actually wearable but what is going on here? Is it really any wonder that some people think knitters are nutters!

As I haven't posted for absolutely yonks and we have recently had the highlight of the knitting year I did think it about time to do so.
Here's Maggie having fun on the Ingrid Wagner Stall where ther are giant balls of yarn available made from strips of woolen fabric. It is possible to knit a rug in a few hours.
Another interesting stall was that of designer Suzie Johnson. Her knitting kits were selling like hot cakes which was evident when back at Bobby Davisons woolshop in Hartlepool. Quite a few people had invested in kits or patterns.
The centre was full of deliciously dyed wool in all its forms and also undyed natural shades are plentiful. There's definately some decisions being made in the above picture! Quick before its over!
And finally two of our Woolfest virgin's went this year, Leonie and Jill. It sounds like they had a thoroughly fab day out.

oops for a while i was far too busy to blog then it had been so long i had forgotten to.
Things seem to be back to normal now after our summer hols. One week poor Leonie was all alone, this went unnoticed by Costa staff who assumed we were absent all summer. After a different night on the leather sofa's ( for people with long legs) that was sorted.
Recently we have been entertained by Jean's tales of her husbands plans for terrorist emergencies. White suits ( with name on back), masks (with smarties in ?),plastic bags for feet, motorbike, socks for filtering urine etc... all deadly serious eeeeeeeeee and people think knitting is mad.
My favourite was the idea of using tights to tie the phone to ones head during long phone calls thus freeing the hands to knit, GENIUS!
This is Lola, she is on the free newsletters from www.lionbrand.com/

The latest news is that Bobby Davisons in Hartlepool have started a knitting night. At the moment i think they are seeing how it goes but on Tuesday evenings between 6.00 and 8.00 knitters are welcome to pop in have a mooch and do some knitting or crochet.
We may get first pick at any yarn that is on offer too.

Bobby Davisons is the shop with the yellow sign outside on the picture. The address is 101 Park Road TS26 9HP.
Depending on which road you come in on it is either left at the church and Natwest bank or if on the dual carriageway, left at the fire station , college and brewery corner. The shop is opposite The Park Hotel and parking should be available outside by that time.
Also worth a look is their website;

Here we are at our new venue!!! The thing is some of you were smiling on the first pic and not on the other and vice versa so heres them both. The professionals are smiling on both obviously.
It was great to get back to normal and almost felt like Starbucks. Lets hope we can settle now for another four years or so of happy knitting, after all that is the important bit.
Having said that I did speak to a lady on holiday who has been attending a sewing bee for 50 years and they don't sew anymore. That's quite understandable isn't it, just 46 years to go then !!!! ![]()

We are going to try meeting at Costa Coffee at Teesside Park from Thursday 18th of Feb.
Those of you that didn't make it to Ark in Stockton have missed some ludicrous evenings trying to knit.
Rampaging teenagers and singing groups singing "we shall overcome" above the din of a dj's bass beat and blue neon lighting that does do funny things to your knitting being some of the distractions.
The venue was spacious enough and the drinks and food good but it's time to try somewhere hopefully better.
So fingers crossed knitters !!!!!

Isn;t this sweet. Well i hadn't realised at the time but last week was our fourth birthday. We first met on the 12th January 2006 thats all 3 of us did. Under the circumstances of settling in at our new venue a celebration would have been a little difficult anyway. Must remember next year.
There was however lots of singing ( i use that word loosely). In fact this was my most bizarre evening spent knitting. Which includes the time we all had to fight through lots of Manga characters.
As we approached the statuesque building it hadn't crossed my mind that on the pictures a door is not visible. We were motioned to by Maggie as we proceded in the wrong direction. Once inside the blue lights made my knitting look ultra violet then we became aware of some rather repetitive vocals from upstairs.
HOPEFULLY that was a one off recruitment drive with free supper which as you can imagine did attract a bit of a crowd, (the food not the singing).
At one point some sparkly mice ran past (little girls in costume). Just when things became quiet and we all managed to find a seat the lights went off .
We are assured that the seats will usually be free, there will be no loud attempts at singing and the lights will stay on in future.
Hopefully we will be spared the fight over seating like we used to have most weeks at Srarbucks.
And finally THE COFFEE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
. AND
FOOD IS AVAILABLE

Doesn't this seem like a long time ago? Sorry there is no particular order to these posts at the moment. That is partly down to my nature and because i keep finding pictures I have'nt used.
Not a bad pic and we had a pleasant evening exchanging our secret santa gifts.
This is what greeted me later in the evening.

Which we all now know was a drop in the ocean. At least we have had the opportunity to wear lots of knitted garments.
